A Reiki session is a unique experience for each person, however a typical session format is outlined here, along with some general Q&A.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is an ancient Japanese complementary therapy that works with the unseen life force energy we all have flowing through us. Rei means “the higher power,” and “ki,” which means “life force energy.”  It was brought into existence by the Buddhist priest Mikao Usui in the 1920’s after three weeks of fasting and meditation on Mount Kurama, a sacred mountain in the north of Kyoto, Japan.

As a Reiki Master practitioner I am able to understand where you may have energy blocks, and assist and guide the flow of energy through you so that you can then promote your own health and well-being. I am purely a channel for that energy to flow to you.

Reiki is a spiritual practice and non religious.

What benefits does Reiki bring?

There are so many benefits to a Reiki session, and because Reiki is an intelligent energy, it works on exactly you need it to. Primary benefits are relaxation, improved mood and emotional well-being, reduced anxiety, better sleep, reduced pain and inflammation. Some people may receive a knowing solution to an issue they are working their way through, somewhat like having a dream where they receive an ‘answer’ to resolve a challenge. Reiki is used in both hospital inpatient and outpatient settings as a complementary therapy for surgery, cancer, and AIDS, to name a few.

How does a Reiki session work?

After completing an intake background form with you and answering any questions you may have, we will start the session. Either lying on the massage table or sitting – depending on your mobility. You will be fully clothed, although I do ask that you remove your shoes and socks. I will then start by taking a ‘reading’ from your feet, I do this by holding your feet firmly and tuning in to your energy field. I will then move around your body working in different areas depending on where I am directed. I will explain what I am doing as I am doing it. I may ask you questions or ask you to breathe in a certain way as I do this.

Ahead of a Reiki session, I make spiritual preparation for you. This means ensuring I am clear to receive high vibration energy, sitting in meditation ahead of your arrival and clearing l’espace with herbs, sound and ritual.

How long does a session last?

Your Reiki session will last for just about an hour. I allow 15 minutes for you to complete the form and ask questions, become acclimatised to l’espcae environment and ask any questions you many have. I will work on you energetically for around 40-45 minutes. At the end of the session I will offer you water and answer any questions you may have. We will then discuss any information I may have received for you.

What do you mean by information you receive for me?

Being an intuitive channel means that Spirit/Source will also talk to me as I am working with you. Not all of the information I receive is relevant for you to hear, but I am always guided when to share something of importance with you. This can be something simple or something more in depth.
